Boot Camp: A free, half-day practical experience
Boot Camp is a free, half-day experience built around concrete business work, from understanding a challenge to prototyping a solution. Programming experience is not assumed. Even when the challenge is not yet clear, actual documents, verification loops, and moments of uncertain judgment help identify a question to work on.
How it works
- Confirm the challenge, participants, available materials, and environment in advance, and focus on a single task.
- Form hypotheses about causes and constraints, run a small prototype, test it, and refine it. Return to the initial question when the results call for it.
- Test other documents and exceptions from the same task to understand its scope and limits. Share the results with the decision-maker and consider what to address next.
- Summarize what was learned and what remains unresolved. Production deployment and ongoing support are discussed separately if desired.
Participants may operate and test the AI themselves, or PROTHENTIA may handle implementation while participants contribute operational knowledge and assess exceptions and the quality of the output.
What you take away
- A working result tested against your own challenge, with its use and applicable scope made clear
- An understanding, revised through practice, of what was holding the work back and what new possibilities have emerged
- A basis for the next decision: what worked, what remains unresolved, and what production use would require
Value is assessed not only through speed, but also through the ideas tested, quality of judgment, rework, and changes in the available options.
Understanding the scope
The half-day experience creates a prototype within a testable scope to establish value and limits. It does not promise a completed production-ready system. Any preparation needed for production deployment or use in other tasks is discussed separately after reviewing the results. The challenges shown on the page are illustrations, not client case studies. Dates, participants, materials, environment, and the scope of prototyping and testing are confirmed individually.

Challenge exploration: Your next move (Japanese)
The public online experience accepts a challenge of up to 400 characters. The initial screen can be opened without signing in and has no fields for a name, company, or contact details. Users describe, as far as they can, their situation, difficulty, previous attempts, and desired outcome.
The experience describes how AI uses a five-perspective framework to organize the desired state, the gap from the present, and hypotheses about underlying factors, then suggest where change might begin and what to try first. These are hypotheses and directions to explore—an entry point for testing against the realities of the work.
The input screen instructs users not to enter personal or confidential information, states that inputs, results, and notes are not stored by the site, and explains the use of cookies for usage limits. A checkbox requests consent to send data to OpenAI before AI processing begins; users may also proceed to an application without AI. Starting anonymously does not mean no technical usage information, including cookies, is processed. This is not a consultation channel for personal information or confidential documents.

Published practice: Four anonymized cases
The following four anonymized cases are published on the official website.
01 Major integrated facilities management company: From a future vision to strategic choices.
The challenge
Discussions about the future kept returning to an extension of the present when it was time to plan. The company needed more than a statement of aspiration: it needed to connect that vision to changes in its business and organization, and to the conditions required to make them happen.
What people and AI connected
An intensive off-site with potential next-generation leaders shaped a vision of the company's desired future. Working backward from that vision, the team clarified strategic initiatives and priorities for transformation.
In parallel, the team built a quantitative model to support the strategy. What organization and investment would this growth require? AI-assisted simulations responded to the discussion, making the strategy more concrete while testing the conditions needed to realize the vision.
Connecting strategy to action
Compare business options in terms of both growth potential and what it would take to realize them. Test the effects of changing assumptions, and make it possible to discuss priorities and where to begin.
What we built
- A future vision and growth and transformation strategy
- A quantitative model underpinning the strategy
- Simulation-based comparison of options
- An implementation roadmap
The moment the discussion becomes concrete
“If that is the future we want, what must change—and what capabilities will we need?”

02 Major pharmaceutical company: Build on your strengths. Find new ground for growth.
The challenge
The company needed to identify its next pillars of growth while assessing the potential of multiple businesses. Rather than simply extending existing businesses and customer relationships, it needed to ask where, for whom, and how its accumulated strengths could create new value.
What people and AI shaped
The team re-examined the company's strengths and customers' challenges, exploring different customer relationships and ways to deliver value. It developed a strategic narrative connecting growth in existing businesses with expansion into new domains.
At the same time, the team built a quantitative model to test growth and profitability. What kind of business would emerge if we delivered this value to these customers? AI-assisted simulations varied the assumptions, refining the strategy by moving between new possibilities and the conditions for commercial viability.
Connecting strategy to action
Connect the assessment of individual businesses with a growth narrative for the portfolio. Clarify what to develop, what to combine, and where to expand, then translate that into priorities and an approach to investment and execution.
What we built
- An overall business strategy including expansion into new domains
- A quantitative model for testing business viability
- A portfolio assessment
- An approach to investment and business development
The moment the discussion becomes concrete
“How would reaching new customers change both the growth potential and the economics of the business?”

03 Information systems department: Bring new intelligence to systems that endure.
The challenge
Long-established systems hold functionality and knowledge that support people's work. Bringing AI into them required more than technical knowledge: it required an understanding of what users wanted to do and how the existing systems helped them do it.
What people and AI implemented
A former athlete turned engineer led the work from understanding operations through design and implementation. By investigating existing functions and considering what to delegate to AI and where people should decide, the engineer shaped an assistant for everyday use.
Listen to the work before building. Show people something that runs, deepen the understanding, and build again. People and AI repeated this cycle together.
Connecting it to everyday work
Test how the assistant is used in real work, and turn user responses into the next improvement. Build on existing systems while making AI usable within the workflow.
What we built
- An AI assistant connected to existing operations and systems
At the heart of the work
Understanding the work and building something that runs. The same engineer moves between the two.

04 Major restaurant group: Change the work beyond the reading.
The challenge
Read documents, gather the necessary information, reconcile it, and prepare it for the next task. Faster extraction alone does not reduce the overall burden if manual work remains afterward. The surrounding steps needed to be reconsidered too.
What people and AI are building
Trace the actual workflow and design a system connecting information intake, verification, and use. Combine AI processing with human checks to create screens and flows that fit real operations.
Show prototypes to the people doing the work, test how they use them and handle exceptions, and improve. People and AI refine not only whether processing is possible, but whether users can work confidently and move on to the next task.
Connecting it to everyday work
Test individual processes together with the work before and after them. Refine day-to-day usability so people can see what needs checking, understand the status of the work, and proceed to the next step.
What we built
- A system connecting information extraction to practical use
- Operational screens supporting verification, judgment, and document preparation
What change feels like
From “the information was extracted” to “I know what to check next and how to proceed.”

People and AI: Terms and their practical meaning
- People × AI: An approach to collaboration in which people and AI use dialogue to revise questions, hypotheses, prototypes, and tests. The expression “People < AI < People × AI” on the official site communicates this philosophy; it is not a numerical result from a comparative experiment.
- Challenge exploration: An entry point for organizing the structure of a current challenge and a possible next step as hypotheses. It is linked from the homepage. Suggesting hypotheses is distinct from testing them in actual work or making a management decision.
- Prototyping: Running a small prototype within defined tasks, materials, and conditions to establish its scope and limits. This is distinct from preparation for production deployment.
- AI implementation: Connecting AI with existing operations and systems so it can be used in everyday work.
- Human judgment: In Boot Camp, participants assess operational exceptions and the quality of outputs. In the public cases, AI processing is combined with human verification. This is not a blanket promise of fully automated processing without checks.

AfterImage: Exploring the possibilities of people and AI through art
AfterImage is an art-and-ideas initiative introduced on PROTHENTIA's official site. Through satire that questions familiar assumptions about work and art exploring the possibilities of people and AI, it continues to experiment with expression and response. It is presented separately from client delivery case studies.
As of the review date, the public gallery featured eight works: “Footprints of Precedent,” “The Rocket Waiting for Approval,” “Tomorrow's Commute and Creation,” “The Meeting Ring Road,” “The Perfect-Score Meter,” “The Responsibility Relay,” “The Great Wall Between Departments,” and “The Completion Ceremony Before Unboxing.” These are English renderings of the Japanese titles.

A3T Shiki: An athlete's next career
A3T Shiki is a joint initiative by Athlete Shiki, which supports athletes' careers, and A3T, the AI implementation company spun out of PROTHENTIA. It connects the experimentation, use of feedback, and persistence developed in sport with understanding client challenges and building systems using AI.
The approach does not assume programming experience: participants learn alongside experienced colleagues while checking how things actually work. Published individual experiences and indicative development timelines do not guarantee any person's results or time to reach a given stage.
